i have tried a straightener that was only $30 by Vidal Sassoon called the Nano. i was really surprised because i had just bought it as a back up straightener but it works really well for $30 and comes in funky colors. i got pink! and it doesnt pull your hair and it is 1';
hope this helps (:
get the wet to strait one but DON'T USE IT ON WET!!!

You can buy a new one for about 150$.
But mine came from a store called Tuesday Morning and it was only $60.
And you could get one on Ebay for 75$.

get the jilbere de paris its amazing. i have very thick hair and it makes my hair super straight, thin, and soft! its about 30 dollars and you can get it at sallys store. i deff recommend it! hope i helped :)
Chi Flat Irons work very well and can range from 50$ to ... Well they get pretty costly. But they're good.
i recommend the ghd 100%
it's used by most professional hairstylists and is not only fast and easy to use, but gentle on your hair!
It's about 120+, but i've had mine for four years and it stills works/looks brand new!
Remington Wet 2 Straight flat iron.I got it and you get to straighten yoru hair when it's wet and it turns straight and dry right away. Saves loads of time from the blow dryer.

the best straighteners are GHDs, they go super hot and straighten the most frizziest hair with out making your hair dry. i've always used GHDs and i find that using other peoples straighteners makes my hair just look dull, and have no volume !!
I have three hair straighteners....i have a conair one(it is the worst straightener ever!!!) i have a remington wet to straight(it works well but blow dry your hair first because it will fry your hair) and recently i bought a cortex duo and it works the best. it comes with a mini hair straightener for bangs and a regular sized one. my hair is really curly like i just got a perm but it only takes me like 30 minutes to straighten all my hair, and the cortex heats up in 30 seconds. i have never had a chi but i hear those are good too. my cousin has a hai and it works great!!!
I've had my CHI for about five years now and I have no complaints whatsoever. My hair is ridiculously thick and curly, and I always get perfectly straight hair when I use it. It's a little bit pricey, around $100+, but it's totally worth the investment.
These are the straighteners I bought (click link in 'Sources'), they are really good and pretty cheap compared to the competing brands!
I have been using them for a good few months now, no problems, they work perfectly for me and have had many good reviews.. I would recommend them to anyone!
Chi works best in my experience
