GHDs are great...mines pink!Which hair straighteners will make my hair poker straight?
There are a few types of straighteners on the market. Ha 209 1.html Ceramic hair straighteners are generally considered to be the best as they don’t overheat the way that other straighteners can, and are therefore better for your hair.
Remember, heat can be bad for your hair, and just as too much blow-drying can leave your hair looking dull and brittle, the same is also true of too-much straightening. While ceramic straighteners such GHDs (Good Hair Days) will minimize the damage, if you’re using straighteners daily, it may be a good idea to step up your hair care regime a notch at the same time. Invest in a good quality conditioner or use a hot oil treatment a couple of times per week to make sure that your hair remains as shiny as it is straight.
As quick and easy as this method of straightening is, it isn’t effective for everyone. Hair straighteners work best for people with naturally straight hair who simply want to make their style even straighter. If you have naturally curly hair, or hair which has been permed, you may not achieve the same effects, or may find your curls springing back to life after an hour or so.
Permanent Straightening
If you’d rather not spend time on hair straightening every day, or have hair that just won’t respond to at-home straighteners, a more permanent method may be appropriate. This is a method best done by the professionals, so take yourself to the salon and have a chat with your stylist about your options.
Most permanent straightening involves a treatment very much like perming. Instead of wrapping your hair around curlers and leaving it to set, however, it will be pulled straight before chemicals are applied. Once the hair is rinsed clean, your curls should have relaxed, leaving you with straight hair. Bear in mind that the chemicals used to straighten your hair in this way aren’t exactly kind to your hair, and you may be left with some dryness at first. Again, a few deep-conditioning treatments will help.
Although we’re calling this a “permanent” method of hair straightening, if your hair is naturally curly, new growth will be curly too, so you’ll need to repeat the procedure to make sure your hair remains straight.
The best straightener I have ever encountered (after having years of straight hair) is NOT the Chi or the GHD, as they are both inclined to have a cut circuit within 15 months. This is why their warranty's only last a year, because after that they go downhill very quickly. I went through three chi's and two GHD's before I finally found my heaven send: the Paul Mitchell Straightener. Not only does it look much more chic than the others, it has lasted me three years of every day straightening of waist length hair. It is pricier than the Chi, retailing at about $150.00 or so, but the price is worth it.
More than the tool you straighten with is the method. The smaller section at a time you straighten, the straighter it gets. Start at the bast of the neck and work your way up.
However, the best straightening system for your hair is Japanese Straightening. I had this done for about a year and it does absolute wonders. Perfectly straight hair every day when you wake up in the morning, yet still accepts curl when you want it. It looks decently straight when you just blow dry it (even air dry it), but for poker straight, just run a straightener through it and voila! Couture worthy straight hair. The down side? It costs upwards of $1600.00 every application (mine was about $1760.00 with tip, and it takes 5 hours), which you have to have done twice a year to touch up roots which don't grow straight.
GHDs are fab. As you say you want, they give you poker straight hair with no effort - some straighteners are really hard work to make hair straight! The effects also last for ages. They're good for curling too.
Get a GHD. They are best although they are around $300 $400. They keep your hair dead straight but you can also curl it!
I love GHD straighteners.
I hope i helped.

The best would be purchasing a flat iron. It will not be as damaging as chemical straighteners.(relaxers).
ghd's are really good but if u do use them make sure u use a protective heat spray first becausee they will just damage ur hair -- hoped this helped x
GHD'S there deffo thee best Xo
